On March 23rd, a video titled “The Secret of Low-Budget Independent Films, Jang Hang Jun ‘I’ve Tied Two People Together with 2,500’” was uploaded to the YouTube channel “Vivo TV.”
During the video, Jang Hang Jun revealed, “I want to return to my original mindset and try working again,” announcing that he is producing a low-budget independent film as his next project following “The King’s Warden.” He also brought out a whiteboard filled with potential lead actors. For the male lead, names such as Go Soo, Park Bo Gum, Jo In Sung, Ju Ji Hoon, Koo Kyo Hwan, Jung Hae In, Lee Dong Wook, and Gong Yoo were listed. For the female lead, Kim Tae Ri, Lim Ji Yeon, IU, Park Bo Young, Shin Hye Sun, Kim Ji Won, Shin Se Kyung, and Han Ji Min were considered.

While deciding between Jo In Sung and Park Bo Gum, Jang Hang Jun received a call from Lee Joon Hyuk, who had appeared in “The King’s Warden,” and ultimately selected him as the male lead. He then added humorously, “I’m really thankful to IU despite her busy schedule, she said she would even do ‘kakemochi’ (appearing in two films at the same time).” He continued with a playful remark, “But I told her, ‘That’s not proper etiquette among Chungmuro filmmakers. Let’s work together next time,’ and sent her back,” drawing laughter.

The content “The Castle of Acting” is a mockumentary-style variety program starring Kim Eui Sung, with Im Hyung Joon handling planning, directing, writing, and acting. It blurs the line between acting and reality based on conversations among real actors. Before the video began, a disclaimer reading “This content is 100% fictional” was also displayed.
Meanwhile, Jang Hang Jun’s film “The King’s Warden,” released last month, recorded a cumulative audience of 14,842,823 as of March 24th, ranking third in all-time box office admissions. The film is expected to surpass 15 million viewers within the week. Previously known for making unrealistic pledges and earning the nickname “icon of reckless remarks,” Jang Hang Jun later stated, “I will always be careful with my words,” promising to be more cautious moving forward.
