The victim claims they were molested and then wrongfully fired.
According to Hankyung‘s exclusive report on October 31, 2025 (KST), a well-known TV variety producer has been accused of sexual assault and reported to the police.
Simply identified as Producer A, the “star PD” is reported to have directed a long-running, popular series with multiple seasons. It has since been revealed that Producer B, who has worked with Producer A on one of the new seasons, filed a police complaint back in August on charges of “Indecent Act by Compulsion,” or molestation.
Hankyung noted that Producer B has already undergone police questioning and reportedly submitted CCTV footage and other materials as evidence.

During the investigation, Producer B reportedly stated that after a company dinner, Producer A made unwanted physical contact—and when Producer B rejected it, Producer A verbally demeaned them and later informed them of a unilateral dismissal from the program.
Producer B claimed that, following the incident, they were let go from the production team of a program they had been part of throughout planning, casting, production, and pre-filming. Only two months before the program’s scheduled air date, Producer A removed Producer B.
According to Producer B’s legal representative, Producer B initially sought to resolve the issue privately, in an effort to avoid causing problems for the program. But when Producer B reported the assault (along with other allegations of sexual harassment and workplace bullying) to Producer A’s company, an internal investigation failed to resolve the matter.
Producer B’s legal representative argued that “As a result of this incident (and the lack of resolution), Producer B is suffering from depression, anxiety, humiliation, and distress, as well as career disruption, loss of opportunities, and reputational harm.”
Producer A, however, has denied all allegations. Both producers have filed appeals following the company’s internal findings. Meanwhile, netizens are now growing curious about the identities of the producers involved. No additional details have been disclosed as of yet.

- “Most variety shows come with multiple seasons, and a lot of variety producers are considered ‘stars.’ So it’s hard to guess who it is. Please just tell us the names.”
- “There are so many of these ‘star PDs’ though. Who could it be?”
- “This probably isn’t Producer A’s first time doing something this. Victims always suffer most because of their careers, and it’s hard to come forward. Producer B handled it really well. There are too many trash PDs in broadcasting—hope this one gets punished properly.”
- “Where’s this from, which show?”
- “If there are multiple seasons, it’s probably a big-name show. Who could it be?”
- “Who is it?!”
- “Last time there was news like this about some ‘famous idol,’ it ended up being about a nugu. I doubt it’s actually a star producer. If it were someone really big, it would’ve already made headlines—journalists love that kind of clickbait.”
- “Wtf?”
- “TBH, seems like someone not very well-known publicly. People tend to overlook this, but Korea has tons of variety channels. And there are a lot of entertainment and trot shows that come with multiple seasons.”
- “Just give us their names.”
Stay tuned for updates.
