According to a report by Star News on July 3rd, Shin Se-kyung’s exclusive contract with EDAM Entertainment will expire this month. After working under EDAM for about three years, Shin Se-kyung decided not to renew her contract after careful discussion.
In 2021, Shin Se-kyung moved to EDAM Entertainment, a company founded by IU’s longtime manager, after leaving Namoo Actors, where she had worked for 19 years since her debut. At that time, IU welcomed the actress to the EDAM family by sending bouquets of flowers and rice cakes to the staff and Shin Se-kyung. She even hosted a welcoming ceremony and sang a congratulatory song.
Since then, Shin Se-kyung has actively appeared in various projects, such as tvN’s “Arthdal Chronicles: The Sword of Aramun” in 2023 and “Captivating the King” in 2024. The actress also runs her own YouTube channel named “Shin Se-kyung sjkuksee” to communicate with global fans. Her channel currently has about 1.33 million subscribers.
After announcing her decision to leave EDAM Entertainment, Shin Se-kyung is reviewing her next acting project as well as a new agency.
