According to Netflix on February 18, The Art of Sarah, which premiered on February 13, recorded 3.8 million views—calculated by dividing total viewing hours by the show’s runtime—securing the third spot on the Global Top 10 Non-English Shows chart.
The drama has also claimed the No. 1 position in multiple countries/regions including South Korea, Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, and Malaysia. Additionally, it entered the Top 10 in 38 countries/regions such as Bahrain, Peru, Colombia, Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan, and Kenya, proving its explosive international popularity.

Much of the buzz centers on Shin Hye Sun’s intense, almost “tour-de-force” acting display. Her layered portrayal has captivated both domestic and global audiences. Overseas media outlets have praised the series, with Decider describing it as “a compelling and multi-layered mystery about a woman who builds a luxurious life on complex lies and the detective determined to uncover them.” Time similarly noted, “The Art of Sarah unfolds the story of a woman who stops at nothing to climb into high society in a nonlinear narrative that keeps viewers guessing until the very end.”

The Art of Sarah follows the story of Sarah Kim (played by Shin Hye Sun), a woman who longs to become something—even if fake—worthy of luxury and prestige. Opposing her is Mu Gyeong (played by Lee Joon-hyuk), a man relentlessly tracking her ambition and hidden desires.
With its gripping storyline and Shin Hye Sun’s commanding performance at the forefront, The Art of Sarah has quickly emerged as one of Netflix’s most talked-about Korean releases of the year, signaling yet another global breakthrough for K-drama.
