On December 24th, Seo Taiji posted a long message beginning with, “A peaceful Christmas Eve of 2025,” reflecting on the passing of time and addressing his fans directly.
He wrote that it was hard to believe 2026 was already just around the corner, adding that although he lived the past year diligently, he felt sorry that he could not deliver the “good news” fans had long been waiting for. Instead, he decided to share small, everyday updates. Seo Taiji asked whether fans had watched the recently uploaded festival performance video from two days earlier, expressing gratitude that the concert wrapped up successfully thanks to the audience, and praising all the staff who worked tirelessly to make the performance possible.
Seo Taiji also opened up about his simple daily life with his family. He shared that while watching Bon Appétit, Your Majesty together, a sudden Joseon-era version of “Come Back Home” appeared, causing the whole family to burst into laughter. He added that When Life Gives You Tangerines was also deeply enjoyable, describing how they watched while hugging tissues, crying and laughing as the finale unfolded with a lively festival-like scene.

He went on to share a touching reunion with Ellie, the child actress who appeared in the music video for “Christmalo.win,” a track from his 9th album. Seo Taiji wrote that it had been a long time since he last saw Ellie, and that the once-baby Ellie had now grown into a young lady. She had already grown as tall as him, yet her personality remained the same, and she had grown up beautifully. He revealed that Ellie would be entering college next year.
Seo Taiji added that Ellie had been the main character of his 9th album, handling numerous schedules involving songs, music videos, and performances flawlessly. He admitted he had always felt grateful yet apologetic toward her, but was thankful that she still remembered most of those experiences and said she had fun at the time.
He also spoke fondly about his daughter Dam, who was born after listening to Ellie’s songs during pregnancy. Seo Taiji shared that Dam used to follow Ellie closely like an older sister, and now that both have grown up, they get along like close friends, laughing together. He reflected, “The kids keep growing taller and taller, and it feels like only we are getting older.”
In closing, Seo Taiji sent a warm message to his fans, acknowledging that many of them are busy raising children, working, or already taking care of their parents’ health. He expressed hope that even from afar, they could continue to be a deep source of support for one another through their shared warm memories, just as they always have been. He wished everyone a warm Christmas and encouraged fans to finish the rest of 2025 on a wonderful note.
Along with his message, Seo Taiji released photos of his daughter Dam and Ellie taken together in the past. The images showed the two girls standing close like real sisters, Seo Taiji sitting beside Ellie with a gentle smile, and Ellie’s noticeably grown-up appearance today, drawing attention from fans.
Meanwhile, Seo Taiji married actress Lee Eun-sung, who is 16 years younger than him, in 2013, and the couple has a daughter, Dam.
