Hong Kong actress Rain Lee—best known for her iconic portrayal of Wang Zhaojun—has made headlines after revealing the painful truth behind her short-lived marriage to steel tycoon Eric Huang.

The couple married in 2019 after just six months of dating. Huang, the head of a powerful steel conglomerate and owner of a $140 million siheyuan estate in Beijing, appeared to be the perfect partner. However, the seemingly fairytale romance came to a crashing end just 19 months later.

In a candid interview on December 15, Rain Lee disclosed that she had caught Eric Huang bringing another woman into their home, effectively confirming suspicions of infidelity. But the betrayal didn’t stop there.
“He was controlling, jealous, and traditional to an extreme,” Lee shared, recounting how she was forbidden from filming kissing scenes or even praising other men. “Even my own mother was frightened of him. We had completely different values and ways of life.”

Tensions only grew when the couple tried to collaborate on a beauty and skincare business. Between the personal strife and professional disagreements, Rain Lee decided to file for divorce. After the split, Huang reportedly asked her to reconcile, but she shut him down with a firm, “Forget it.”
Despite the heartbreak, Lee says she still believes in love: “If I ever marry again, I’ll take the time to truly understand the person first.”
Born in 1981, Rain Lee was discovered at age 15 in a Hong Kong subway station and rose to fame as a model before launching a successful acting and music career. She’s widely known for her roles in Return of Wang Zhaojun (2008), Thorned Rose, The Great Maid, and Du Lala’s Promotion Diary. In 2023, she returned to the spotlight by participating in the hit reality show Sisters Who Make Waves.
Now single, Rain Lee is focusing on personal growth and her entertainment career—on her own terms.
