Album sales are often viewed as a key indicator of a K-pop group’s popularity. While strong sales can solidify a group’s standing in the industry, sudden drops tend to raise questions about shifting public interest, promotional strategies, or deeper controversies.
From Promising Debut to Peak Sales
EVERGLOW debuted in 2019 under Yuehua Entertainment as a six-member group. Their debut track “Bon Bon Chocolat” made an impressive entrance at No. 5 on Billboard’s World Digital Song Sales chart, establishing them as one of the most promising fourth-generation acts at the time.

Their first single album recorded around 3,800 first-week sales. Over time, those numbers steadily increased, peaking with the release of Last Melody, which surpassed 32,000 first-week copies — marking their highest milestone. Although subsequent releases did not match that peak, they maintained relatively stable sales figures without drastic declines.
Lineup Changes and a Challenging Comeback
In 2025, it was announced that all members would leave Yuehua Entertainment. Four members later re-signed under a new agency and continued activities as EVERGLOW. The restructured lineup recently returned with “Code,” the title track from their album of the same name.

However, first-day sales figures for Code painted a concerning picture. On March 3, the album recorded 473 copies sold — a sharp drop from their previous release’s 5,928 first-day sales and significantly lower than their career peak.
Fans and observers have cited several possible reasons for the downturn. Some pointed to limited promotional activities surrounding the comeback and the transition to a new agency. Others suggested that public sentiment shifted after the group performed in Moscow in November 2025 and later announced a Russian tour, sparking divided opinions online.
The situation has resulted in mixed reactions across social media. While loyal fans continue to show support and urge patience during this transitional period, critics argue the numbers may reflect waning interest.
