He was arrested on drug related charges the same day.
On October 22, Taiwanese influencer Iris Hsieh (Hsieh Yuhsin) was found dead in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Iris, who was discovered nude in the bathroom of a hotel, was in the country working on a video with Malaysian rapper Namewee, who has now been connected to her death.

The rapper was the last to see the influencer alive, and allegedly found Iris unconscious in the bathroom and tried to perform CPR. The 42-year-old then contacted emergency services.
Namewee was arrested the same day on drug charges after Ecstasy tablets were found in his hotel room. He also, according to police, tested positive for amphetamine, methamphetamine, ketamine, and THC, the chemical compound in cannabis, in a urine screening. He pleaded not guilty to the charges and was released on bail two days later, posting on Instagram to deny them and any involvement in Iris’s death.
However, police are currently hunting the musician down after Iris’s death, initially ruled a sudden death, was changed to a murder case. Kuala Lumpur police chief Comm Datuk Fadil Marsus spoke to the media, saying Namewee is suspected of going into hiding.
We believe Namewee is aware of the investigation, which has been widely covered by official and social media channels. We have not been able to locate him, and it is suspected that he has gone into hiding.

Namewee is known for addressing controversial topics in his music and has faced legal issues in the past over his work.
