Actor Park Si-hoo has sent a strong signal of comeback with his latest film Choir of God, choosing to confront lingering personal controversies head-on through tangible box-office results rather than loud statements.
Recently, Park has been quietly sharing snapshots from his daily life and filming sets via social media. In the photos, his noticeably more refined appearance and sharper facial features caught the public’s eye, prompting comments such as “His vibe feels different,” “That’s a carefully managed look,” and “He seems changed.” The subtle shift in image naturally led attention back to his long-awaited return project.
As of January 26, Choir of God, starring Park Si-hoo, has surpassed 600,000 cumulative viewers in its fourth week since release. Opening on December 31, 2025, the film has managed to hold its ground against Hollywood blockbusters and new domestic releases alike an impressive achievement reached in just 25 days.

What stands out is the film’s sustained momentum during its fourth week, a period when audience numbers typically decline. Despite limited screen allocations, the movie has maintained a high seat-occupancy rate, fueled by family audiences and repeat viewers. Word-of-mouth continues to spread, with moviegoers describing it as “a film you end up recommending” and “a good choice to watch with parents.”
Offline enthusiasm has also been palpable. Following the 600,000-viewer milestone, Park Si-hoo joined director Kim Hyung-hyup and co-stars including Jung Jin-woon for stage greetings across Seoul and the Gyeonggi region. The cast visited multiple sold-out theaters, where applause and cheers filled the venues as they personally thanked audiences.
The film’s unique premise centered on a North Korean security officer forming a fake propaganda orchestra combined with its humanistic narrative and strong musical elements, is being credited as the foundation for its potential long-term run.

Meanwhile, Park Si-hoo has directly addressed the “affair-brokering” allegations raised last year. A woman had claimed on social media that he introduced another woman to a married acquaintance, allegedly leading to the breakdown of a family. Park firmly denied the claims, stating they were “clearly false” and emphasizing that legal proceedings are currently underway. He explained that while he initially chose not to respond due to the baseless nature of the accusations, his agency decided that official action was necessary. “If there were anything to hide, I would have felt anxious but there isn’t,” he said.
Marking his first major film return in a decade, Park Si-hoo has now received his verdict not in words, but in numbers. As he continues to move forward amid controversy, industry watchers are closely observing just how far this box-office-driven comeback will take him.
