Actor Park Seo Joon shared his heartfelt thoughts following the conclusion of JTBC’s drama Surely Tomorrow during an interview held on January 15 at a café in Gangnam, Seoul. The series, written by Yoo Young Ah and directed by Lim Hyun Wook, tells a bittersweet yet deeply emotional romance about Lee Gyeong Do (Park Seo Joon) and Seo Ji Woo (Won Ji An), former lovers who reunite under complicated circumstances involving a scandal and unresolved feelings.
In the drama, Park Seo Joon portrayed Lee Gyeong Do, a seemingly ordinary office worker and entertainment news editor who lives a quiet, routine life but approaches love with complete sincerity. An unexpected incident reconnects him with his first love, forcing him to confront past excitement, lingering pain, and emotional uncertainty in the present. Won Ji An played Seo Ji Woo, the second daughter of a fashion conglomerate, whose glamorous exterior hides unspoken wounds.
Park Seo Joon explained that he doesn’t consciously try to maintain relationships, even though he is often described as someone with wide connections. He shared that when people naturally click, checking in and meeting up happens organically whenever time allows, especially given the unpredictable nature of his work schedule.

When asked how he maintains close friendships with people from different fields—such as football star Son Heung Min, BTS’s V, and singer Sung Si Kyung—Park Seo Joon said conversations often overlap regardless of profession. Some friends talk about acting, others about life, but ultimately the topics feel similar. He mentioned that he enjoys sitting down over a drink, immersing himself in deep conversations about life, describing those moments as endlessly enjoyable.
Addressing his personality, Park Seo Joon admitted that while people may see him as outgoing, his core temperament hasn’t changed much. He tends to be quiet with those he is closest to and said that even during interviews, he makes a conscious effort to talk more. He humorously added that seeing others work hard to keep conversations going made him realize he, too, is doing his best.
Reflecting on his 15-year acting career, Park Seo Joon said time seemed to pass without him noticing because he rarely took long breaks, often moving from one project to another thanks to good timing and opportunities. However, he acknowledged that the one-year hiatus he took two years ago was extremely helpful. That period of rest reignited his passion, and Surely Tomorrow became a project that made him want to feel “burning hot” about acting again.

During his break, he intentionally spent less time in Korea, traveling to slow down and reset his mindset. Instead of worrying about work, he focused on enjoying each day, which helped him rediscover a healthier way of living.
Looking ahead, Park Seo Joon said he currently feels full of energy and wants to continue acting consistently for the next few years. He is rebuilding daily routines—exercising, studying languages, running, and maintaining both physical and mental health—hoping to make the year ahead a balanced and healthy one.
He also reacted modestly to the trend of newborns being named “Seo Joon,” joking that popular dramas often influence baby names. While flattered, he emphasized his responsibility to be a positive example and vowed never to bring shame to the name.
As for how Surely Tomorrow will remain in his career, Park Seo Joon believes it is a drama that reveals deeper meaning upon rewatching. He hopes viewers who love dissecting stories will find lasting emotional depth and a strong aftertaste that lingers long after the final episode.
