Born in 1987, Weng Feiran was one of the most well-known child actors in China in the early 2000s, rising to fame alongside peers such as Yang Zi and Zhang Yishan. His breakthrough came through a supporting role that, despite limited screen time, left an unforgettable impression on viewers.

Weng Feiran gained widespread attention after portraying the young Ying Zheng in the historical drama Emperor Qin Shi Huang. Although he appeared in only three episodes with a total runtime of around 30 minutes, his commanding presence, sharp gaze, and mature acting far exceeded his age. At just 12 years old at the time of filming, Weng’s performance was so striking that audiences dubbed him “the reincarnation of Ying Zheng” and praised him as having a face “made for cinema.”
Thanks to his refined features and powerful aura, many believed Weng Feiran was destined to become a future Best Actor. However, the drama did not air in China until 2007. During the long wait, his family grew concerned about his future stability and decided he should step away from the entertainment industry and return to school instead of continuing as a child star.

After completing his undergraduate studies, Weng Feiran went on to earn a master’s degree from Minzu University of China, graduating in 2014. Since then, he has chosen a quiet life completely removed from the entertainment world.

For many years, Weng Feiran has lived out of the public eye and rarely uses social media, leaving fans with little information about his current life. In a handful of rare photos that have surfaced, however, he still retains his handsome appearance, with sharp features and an elegant demeanor fueling ongoing regret among viewers who wish he had continued acting.
Despite his absence from showbiz, Weng Feiran’s name continues to resurface year after year. He is still remembered as the actor with the “most emperor-like face among child stars,” a title that remains unmatched. According to Chinese media, whenever summer arrives or the phrase “Young Emperor” is mentioned, images of Weng Feiran as young Ying Zheng in Emperor Qin Shi Huang are once again widely shared.
