On November 15, Munhwa Ilbo reported that members Danielle, Minji, and Hanni failed to reach a consensus with ADOR over distancing themselves from former CEO and producer Min Hee-jin . This comes after Haerin and Hyein successfully negotiated their return, suggesting a divide within the group.
The three members reportedly expressed willingness to return to ADOR just an hour after Haerin and Hyein‘s return was announced—but with one condition: they wanted Min Hee-jin back as their producer. ADOR’s official stance has been hesitant, stating, “We are currently verifying the authenticity.”

Min Hee-jin, who has since resigned from her board position and established a new label called “OK,” had already declined ADOR’s offer to return as NewJeans’ producer. ADOR now claims it cannot confirm any details regarding her potential return or the terms discussed.
The public’s response to this unfolding drama has been less than forgiving. Fans—particularly of groups previously targeted by Min Hee-jin’s plagiarism accusations, such as LE SSERAFIM and ILLIT—are demanding an apology first. Many feel it’s inappropriate for the NewJeans members to insist on her involvement without addressing past controversies.

Amid growing scrutiny, Min Hee-jin issued a statement reaffirming her emotional bond with NewJeans: “NewJeans must stay as five. The structure of this group—its look, sound, and style—was designed with all five in mind.” In a livestream with lawyer Noh Young-hee, she elaborated, “They form a perfect whole when together. Each member contributes to a complete, unique shape.”
Yet Min also warned against weaponizing the members in the conflict: “Now that they are back, these five girls must be cherished. Unnecessary speculation won’t help. Though the target is me, leave the kids out of it.”
