K-pop group NewJeans (Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein) won the “Trend of the Year – K-pop Group” award at the 2025 Korea Grand Music Awards with iM Bank (2025 KGMA), held on November 14 at Inspire Arena in Incheon. This recognition, voted on by global fans, reflects the group’s unwavering popularity.
The “Trend of the Year” honor is based on cumulative results from monthly “Trend of the Month” awards presented throughout the year. These monthly accolades recognize artists who led trends in Korean pop music, as determined by fan votes.

Last year, NewJeans took home two major trophies at the same ceremony, including the top honor of “Grand Artist.” Their win this year highlights their irreplaceable position in the global music scene and continued affection from fans worldwide.
Since debuting in 2022, NewJeans has triggered a global phenomenon, dominating charts with every release. From breakout tracks like “Attention” and “Hype Boy” to hits like “Ditto”, “OMG”, “Super Shy”, “ETA”, “How Sweet”, and their Japanese debut single “Supernatural”, the group has solidified its chart-topping power.

To date, NewJeans‘ total streams on Spotify have exceeded 6.9 billion, and their songs continue to rank on domestic and international charts—testament to the lasting appeal and strength of their music.
Meanwhile, the prolonged exclusive contract dispute between NewJeans and their label ADOR officially ended on November 14, as no appeal was filed by the deadline. Haerin and Hyein’s return to ADOR has been confirmed, while Minji, Hanni, and Danielle are undergoing individual discussions with the agency.
