While secret dating among K-pop idols is not unusual, an idol continuing promotions while pregnant is almost unheard of due to the physical demands and scrutiny of the industry. Yet one third-generation idol managed to do exactly that — and the public had no idea. In fact, the moment was even captured in a fancam, hidden in plain sight for years until fans revisited her story much later.
The idol in question is Laboum’s Yulhee, whose relationship with FTISLAND’s Choi Minhwan first came to light in 2017. The rumors began when Yulhee accidentally posted couple photos online, prompting both agencies to confirm the relationship in September.

Only a few months later, Laboum announced her sudden departure. In early 2018, reports revealed that the couple were engaged and expecting a child. Yulhee and Minhwan later confirmed everything in May just before Yulhee gave birth. As shocking as the news was, what fans didn’t know at the time was that Yulhee had discovered her pregnancy one day before her dating rumor broke.

Despite this, she continued all scheduled activities as a Laboum member, even traveling to Japan for a fan event. One of her final performances took place on October 9, 2017, when she was already three to four months pregnant. At the time, nothing seemed out of the ordinary. The members wore matching outfits, and Yulhee carried out the choreography as usual. But upon rewatching the stage years later, some fans noticed a slight difference a subtle curve in her midsection that camera angles and styling had easily masked.
In a 2024 interview, Yulhee explained how she managed to perform without drawing attention. She revealed that she had confided in the group’s stylist, who carefully tailored her stage outfits to avoid unnecessary pressure or exposure. “They helped dress me so that it wouldn’t be burdensome,” she recalled.

After leaving Laboum, Yulhee went on to have two more children. Her personal life later took another turn when she divorced Choi Minhwan following his cheating scandal.
Today, her story remains one of the most surprising moments in K-pop history a rare instance where an idol performed while pregnant, with the evidence unknowingly recorded in a fancam that fans would only piece together years later.
