Netflix has officially confirmed production for the new Korean series Beauty in the Beast, unveiling its lead cast lineup featuring rising stars Kim Minju, Moon Sang Min, and Lomon. The announcement, made on January 8, has generated excitement among K-drama fans globally.
Beauty in the Beast is a youth fantasy romance centered around Minsoo (played by Kim Minju), a girl harboring a mysterious secret—she transforms into a wolf. As she enters university, she encounters upperclassman Haejun (Moon Sang Min) and Doha (Lomon), a free-spirited werewolf, triggering a whirlwind of emotions and conflicts on campus.

Minsoo has spent her life suppressing emotions and avoiding danger to keep her secret hidden. Now socialized and ready to experience normal life, her entrance into university opens the door to a new chapter. Kim Minju, known for her work in Hear Me: Our Summer, Undercover High School, and Connection, is expected to bring a unique charm to the complex role.
Moon Sang Min, fresh from appearances in dramas like To My Beloved Thief, Cinderella at 2 AM, and Under the Queen’s Umbrella, takes on the role of Haejun, Minsoo’s aloof yet endearing senior. Though his cold demeanor gives off an intimidating vibe, he has an affectionate personality that slowly reveals itself as he grows closer to Minsoo.

Lomon, who gained recognition from Netflix’s All of Us Are Dead and upcoming SBS series No Tail to Tell, plays Doha a carefree werewolf who acts on impulse and is perplexed by Minsoo’s constant self-restraint. His chemistry with Minju’s character is expected to be one of the show’s highlights.
Directed by Jin Hyeok (The Legend of the Blue Sea, The Tale of Lady Ok), and written by Jin Han Sae (Extracurricular, Glitch), the series is expected to blend stunning visuals with compelling storytelling.

Early reactions from online communities have been enthusiastic, with viewers commenting on the intriguing plot and impressive cast. Beauty in the Beast will be released exclusively on Netflix.
