According to a report on March 23, Nana and Chae Jong Seok are not in a romantic relationship. A source close to both individuals clarified that “they are not dating,” firmly shutting down the rumors.
The misunderstanding appears to have originated from Nana’s appearance on the MBC variety show Omniscient Interfering View, which aired on March 21. During the broadcast, Nana casually discussed relationships and marriage while traveling with her manager. When her manager suggested she should date before turning 40, Nana jokingly replied that dating can happen “in spare moments,” adding that she has “consistently dated well.”
However, her comment about “consistently dated well” was misinterpreted by some viewers as an indication that she is currently in a relationship. This led netizens to speculate that her rumored partner was Chae Jong Seok, a model six years her junior who previously appeared alongside her in Baek Ji Young’s 2024 music video.
The situation was further fueled by the fact that when dating rumors first surfaced two years ago, Nana’s agency responded ambiguously, stating it was “difficult to confirm due to privacy.” This prior response contributed to the current wave of assumptions, with some interpreting her recent remarks as a confirmation of an ongoing relationship.
However, sources from both sides have now made it clear that the rumors are completely false. They emphasized that Nana and Chae Jong Seok are not dating, and that her comments on the show were simply lighthearted remarks about her general dating experiences rather than a reference to any current partner.
