On February 25, Moon Sang Min sat down for an interview at a location in Jongno, Seoul, where he shared his thoughts on the release of “Pavane,” directed by Lee Jong Pil.
Released on Netflix on February 20, “Pavane” tells the story of three individuals who have closed off their hearts but gradually become each other’s light, learning to face life and love again. The film is helmed by director Lee Jong Pil, known for works such as “Samjin Company English Class” and “Escape,” both of which portrayed youth navigating harsh realities through diverse genres.

In the film, Go Ah Sung plays Mi Jung, a woman who hides from the uncomfortable gazes of society. Byun Yo Han takes on the role of Yo Han, a free-spirited soul who loves rock music. Moon Sang Min portrays Kyung Rok, a young man who has given up on his dreams and chosen to live realistically. The trio has been praised for their compelling on-screen chemistry.
Following the film’s release, online communities quickly buzzed about the intense kiss scene between Moon Sang Min and Byun Yo Han.

Moon Sang Min clarified that it was not his first kiss scene. However, he admitted, “It might have been the most intense kiss of my life.” He explained, “Many viewers paid close attention to that moment, and it was an extremely important scene. Byun Yo Han gave me courage. We felt that if we only pretended, it would look even more awkward, so we decided to go all the way and do it properly. We finished it in just one take.”
Previously, Byun Yo Han had mentioned that things felt slightly awkward between them for a short time after filming the scene. Addressing that, Moon Sang Min said, “That was because of me. I avoided him. I couldn’t really look him in the eyes and felt shy around him.”

He continued, “But he’s a veteran actor and also like an older brother to me. He came up to me and said, ‘Sang Min, if you act like this, I’ll start feeling awkward too.’ That’s when I realized he had been paying close attention to me. I could truly feel how much he cared about both Moon Sang Min as a person and Kyung Rok as a character.”
“Pavane” has been available for streaming on Netflix since February 20.
