On January 27, attorney Kim Sun-woong of the law firm representing Min Hee-jin confirmed that a press conference regarding the so-called ‘NewJeans tampering’ allegations will take place on January 28. The event is intended to clarify facts surrounding multiple lawsuits currently underway between ADOR, Min Hee-jin, and members of NewJeans.
According to Kim, the press conference is being held in response to ADOR’s damages lawsuit against Min Hee-jin, as well as contract termination and damages claims involving certain NewJeans members. He stated that the purpose of the briefing is “to convey the truth behind the so-called ‘NewJeans tampering’ allegations.” Despite the high-profile nature of the controversy, Min Hee-jin herself is not expected to attend the press conference in person.

NewJeans have been embroiled in legal disputes with ADOR since November 2024, when the group notified the agency of their intention to terminate their exclusive contracts. However, the situation shifted after ADOR won a lawsuit confirming the validity of the contracts.
Following the ruling, members Haerin, Hyein, and Hanni returned to ADOR. Minji is reportedly still in discussions regarding her return, while Danielle was notified by ADOR of the termination of her exclusive contract after the agency determined that continued collaboration was no longer feasible.
In addition, ADOR has filed a 431 billion won (approximately USD 320 million) damages lawsuit against Danielle, one member of her family, and Min Hee-jin. Danielle has since appointed legal counsel to respond to the claims.
