ATEEZ has always been known for their honesty, but San‘s latest talk show appearance may be one of his most candid moments yet. On Dolsing 4Men, he openly discussed idol dating rules — a topic that is usually avoided or sugar-coated, and his comments quickly became the highlight of the episode.
During the show, the MC dove straight into the subject many consider taboo in K-Pop. He asked about romantic relationships and how they test idols.

The question immediately shifted the energy in the studio. Most idols dodge dating discussions with diplomatic answers, but San didn’t hesitate.
“There’s no clause in our agency contract that forbids dating. The agency always tells us, ‘If you want to see someone, go ahead, but make sure it doesn’t interfere with your work.”
This is especially important as many fans are surprisingly aware of and okay with idols dating. The problem comes when they are discovered. Many Korean fans believe that being an idol involves hiding your personal lives well so as not to let it interfere with their career.

The MC continued to teased San, wondering out loud about those who choose not to tell the agency while dating. Usually, telling the agency helps the staff control the situation and hide the fact. Later on, San admitted that if he really liked someone, he’d probably just confess to them.
San’s open answers sparked praise for how candid he was about a usually taboo topic!
