The 2025 MBC Drama Awards took place on December 30th at the MBC Media Center Public Hall in Sangam-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul, with Kim Sung Joo and Lee Sun Bin serving as hosts. Lee Se Young received the Best Actress award for her performance in Motel California.
Upon taking the stage, Lee Se Young was visibly emotional as she said, “Just being told that I’m the Best Actress is something I’m deeply grateful for,” fighting back tears. She went on to candidly share her long-held insecurities as an actress, admitting that she often worries about whether she truly deserves to stand confidently in her profession.
She continued by reflecting on what acting has taught her, saying that through her projects she realized how much she genuinely loves her colleagues, staff members, and the atmosphere on set. Lee Se Young added that being able to live as an actress has brought her great happiness and that her level of job satisfaction is at its highest.
After initially stepping away from the microphone, Lee Se Young stood up to the microphone again, hesitating briefly before speaking again. Apologizing for the interruption, she revealed that she had been too nervous to say this earlier. She then unexpectedly expressed her affection for her former agency head, saying, “I recently changed agencies, but to the CEO who worked with me and cared for me for nearly 10 years I love you so much.”
Lee Se Young previously parted ways with PrainTPC in September after working together for 11 years and subsequently signed an exclusive contract with Fantagio. Her sincere words of gratitude toward her former agency added a touching and memorable moment to the night, resonating strongly with viewers and fellow industry professionals alike.
