On February 23, Swing Entertainment officially announced that I.O.I will make a comeback in May to celebrate the 10th anniversary of their 2016 debut through Mnet’s Produce 101. The long-awaited reunion carries special meaning for fans who have hoped to see the members reunite on stage.

However, the agency stated that Kang Mina and Kyulkyung would not participate in the anniversary project due to prior schedules, leaving many fans disappointed.

The atmosphere shifted dramatically when Kyulkyung recently posted photos taken in Seoul on her social media. In the images, she showcased a pure and elegant winter look, wearing a beret and red knit sweater while posing for the camera. She also shared casual daily moments, smiling while holding bungeoppang —a popular Korean winter snack—and enjoying Korean cuisine at a restaurant.

The posts quickly drew attention online, with fans reacting, “Wasn’t she supposed to be absent?”, “Is there a surprise participation coming?”, and “Can we hope for a full lineup reunion?”
Since promoting with I.O.I, Kyulkyung has built a steady career across China and Korea, focusing on acting and broadcasting activities. Known for her doll-like visuals and stable career trajectory, she has secured a strong global fanbase.

With her recent appearance in Seoul, speculation is growing over whether the visit is simply for personal schedules or possibly connected to I.O.I’s 10th anniversary project.
Meanwhile, the confirmed lineup for the anniversary activities includes Lim Nayoung, Chungha, Kim Sejeong, Jung Chaeyeon, Kim Sohye, Yoo Yeonjung, Choi Yoojung, Kim Doyeon, and Jeon Somi. The group plans to release a new album, hold a concert in Seoul, and embark on an Asia tour.
As anticipation builds, fans continue to watch closely for any surprise updates regarding Kyulkyung’s potential involvement.
