A shocking personal story shared on As Us Anything Fortune Tellers is drawing attention for highlighting the darker side of Korea’s beauty industry.
A 39-year-old hanbok model, identified only as “A,” revealed she has spent approximately 140 million won (over $100,000) on plastic surgery — yet still feels compelled to undergo more procedures.
During the broadcast, A openly admitted: “I’ve spent around 140 million won on plastic surgery, but I still want to do more. I don’t know if I should continue or stop.”
She shared that her transformation began in her early 20s, starting with facial procedures before expanding to full-body surgeries.
Her procedures include: facial fillers, lip augmentation and lip corner surgery, nose revision and facelift treatments.
She also underwent multiple breast surgeries, including enlargement and later reduction due to severe back and shoulder pain. Complications led to inflammation, requiring additional corrective procedures costing around 25 million won.

In total, she underwent 6 breast surgeries due to side effects and medical issues.
A also revealed that she is transgender, explaining: “I always believed I was a girl since I was young.”
Inspired by Harisu, she pursued hormone therapy and multiple procedures, including voice feminization surgery in Thailand, which she described as her most satisfying result.
While she reported minimal physical pain currently, A shared that the emotional toll has been far more difficult.
She recalled painful past relationships:
- A 3-year relationship ended abruptly when her partner chose to marry a biological woman to have children
- A later 5-year relationship also ended due to similar reasons
Through tears, she confessed: “If I had been born biologically female, I wouldn’t have felt this pain.”
Despite her desire for further procedures, A revealed that even plastic surgeons have refused: “When I go to clinics, they tell me not to do it. They say, ‘If you want to die, then go ahead.’”
She admitted that when looking in the mirror, she still feels incomplete — a mindset that has raised concerns about cosmetic surgery addiction.
The show’s hosts urged her to reconsider future surgeries, emphasizing:
- She has already undergone over 20 procedures
- The health risks are increasingly severe
- Emotional well-being should take priority
One host advised: “It would be better to focus on maintaining your current appearance and learning to love yourself.”
This story has sparked wider discussion about the pressure of appearance in Korean society, the psychological impact of repeated cosmetic procedures and the fine line between self-improvement and self-harm.
A’s journey serves as a powerful reminder that external transformation does not always lead to inner satisfaction — and that the pursuit of perfection can come at a significant cost.
