Actress Kim Ji-won is set to star in a bold new drama based on Korea’s first female detective. Titled Detective Park Mi-ok, the series is penned by acclaimed screenwriter Jung Seo-kyung, known for her work on The Handmaiden and Decision to Leave, and will be directed by Kim Hee-won, reuniting with Kim after their hit Queen of Tears.
According to a report by Sports Chosun on October 29, Jung is currently in the early stages of developing the script and has already handed it over to Kim Ji-won. The drama draws inspiration from Park Mi-ok, a real-life trailblazer and the first female detective in South Korea.
