While most K-pop relationships are revealed through tabloid reports or paparazzi leaks, especially from media outlets like Dispatch, one idol took matters into his own hands—making a surprising romantic confession in front of fans.

Oh Jong Hyuk, a member of first-generation boy group Click-B, made headlines in 2003 during the group’s concert when he publicly acknowledged his relationship with actress Lee Da Hee. At the time, Click-B had undergone several member changes, and only four members were active when Jong Hyuk dropped the unexpected announcement during a concert in July 2003.

He told the audience that his girlfriend was among the crowd, leading many to assume it was a playful comment or fan service. However, Jong Hyuk was serious—he was referring to Lee Da Hee, who was not only in attendance but also visibly acknowledged by the spotlight.

Following the concert, Lee Da Hee addressed the relationship in a heartfelt letter shared on her fan café. In the emotional message, she expressed her love for Jong Hyuk and asked fans to support him not just as an artist, but “as a person, as someone’s boyfriend.” She admitted feeling hesitant about attending the concert, fearing judgment, but ultimately chose to go. Despite the initial criticism she received afterward, she remained sincere in her support for him.

Her letter revealed the complexities of being romantically involved with a public figure and the scrutiny that often comes with it—especially in the K-pop industry where idols’ private lives are closely guarded. She shared her affection and admiration for Jong Hyuk, urging fans not to see their relationship in a negative light.

Click-B’s group activities gradually declined after 2003, with some brief reunions in 2011 and 2015. Oh Jong Hyuk later dated T-ARA member Soyeon in 2010 and eventually married a non-celebrity in 2021. He now has one child.
Lee Da Hee has not had any other publicly confirmed relationships since and remains active in the entertainment industry. She continues to build a strong presence through acting and hosting roles, with recent appearances in The Divorce Insurance, S-Line, and Single’s Inferno.
Oh Jong Hyuk’s decision to announce his relationship from the stage remains a rare, bold move in K-pop history—one that highlighted the challenges and courage involved in choosing honesty over secrecy.
