The K-pop scene is heating up this April as major entertainment companies roll out a series of boy group comebacks. Representatives from JYP Entertainment, HYBE, and SM Entertainment are gearing up for a high-stakes showdown, each bringing distinct styles and concepts to the table.

From JYP Entertainment, KickFlip, Xdinary Heroes, and NEXZ are set to return. KickFlip will release their fourth mini album “My First Kick” on April 6, marking their comeback after seven months. The title track “Eye-Poppin’” was co-written and composed by leader Kyehoon, showcasing the group’s playful and energetic charm. Centered around themes like “spring at twenty” and “first love,” the album features seven tracks with all members contributing to the credits, further solidifying their musical identity. They will kick off promotions with an Mnet M2 comeback show and showcase on release day.

Next, Xdinary Heroes will drop their eighth mini album “DEAD AND” along with the title track “Voyager” on April 17. Once again, all members participated in the songwriting process, reinforcing their reputation as “music heroes.” The album includes seven tracks, including the pre-release song “X room.” With striking teaser content and a chilling concept, the band is building anticipation ahead of their comeback showcase.
NEXZ will also return on April 27, about six months after their third mini album “Beat-Boxer” released last October. The group has reportedly completed filming their music video, raising expectations for their upcoming release.

From HYBE, TXT and TWS are stepping up following BTS. TXT will release their eighth mini album “7TH YEAR: A Moment of Stillness in the Thorns” on April 13. The album captures the emotions and narratives of the group entering their seventh year since debut and holds added significance as their first release after renewing contracts with BigHit Music. Through concept photos titled “THORN,” “HUNGER,” and “TENSION,” the group teases a deeper exploration of relationships and inner emotions within their signature storytelling universe.

TWS will make their comeback on April 27 with their fifth mini album “NO TRAGEDY.” Known for their self-defined “boyhood pop” genre, the group continues to depict youth and emotional growth. This time, they aim to tell a story of defying predetermined fate and completing love on their own terms. Riding the momentum of their previous popularity boosted by the viral “Angtal Challenge” they are expected to further establish themselves as trend leaders in K-pop.

Meanwhile, SM Entertainment will send out NCT WISH, who are set to release their first full-length album “Ode to Love” on April 20. Featuring 10 tracks including the title song of the same name, the album expands on their “dream” universe while showcasing a broader musical spectrum. The trailer film, filled with fairy-tale-like visuals that shift between dreams and nightmares, has already captured attention and hints at a more mature side of the members.
With back-to-back comebacks from rookie groups to global stars, April is shaping up to be one of the most competitive months in K-pop this year. As each group brings its own identity and narrative, all eyes are on who will ultimately dominate the charts and win over fans worldwide.
