On November 27, the funeral ceremony for the late Lee Soon-jae was held at Seoul Asan Medical Center in Songpa District, Seoul. The service and send-off were conducted solemnly with many junior actors in attendance to honor the beloved veteran.
The ceremony was hosted by actor Jeong Bo-seok, who starred alongside Lee Soon-jae as his son-in-law in the sitcom High Kick Through the Roof. The eulogies were read by actors Kim Young-chul and Ha Ji-won, both of whom had personal and professional ties to the late star.

Among those most visibly shaken was Jung Il-woo, who made his debut in 2006 through the hit MBC sitcom High Kick!, playing the role of Lee Soon-jae’s grandson. At the funeral, Jung was seen shedding uncontrollable tears, a moving moment that touched everyone present.

The day before, on November 26, Jung Il-woo paid tribute through his personal social media account, writing: “It was truly an honor to take my first steps as an actor alongside you. I will never forget your words and heart, and I’ll carry them with me always. I feel deeply sorry that so much time passed without being able to visit you. Thank you for all your kindness. I pray you rest in peace. I love you, Grandpa.”

Jung and Lee’s on-screen chemistry and warm mentor-mentee relationship off-screen became a cherished memory for fans, especially as High Kick! remains one of the most iconic family sitcoms in K-drama history.
Following the ceremony, Lee Soon-jae was laid to rest, leaving behind a legacy that continues to inspire generations of Korean actors and audiences alike.
