Top stars Jun Ji-hyun and Ji Chang-wook will co-star in the upcoming drama Human x Gumiho, with production scheduled to begin in March 2026.
Jun Ji-hyun plays Goo Ja-hong, a 2,000-year-old gumiho (nine-tailed fox) disguised as a top actress whose otherworldly beauty and scandalous charisma captivate all. Born with the power to enchant humans, Goo Ja-hong thrives on chaos—until she encounters one man immune to her charms: Choi Seok (played by Ji Chang-wook). For the first time, she meets a human whose presence renders her powers useless, igniting both frustration and fascination in her.
Ji Chang-wook will portray Choi Seok, a quirky shaman and director of the mysterious Ohseong Museum. Though he appears carefree, Choi Seok possesses rare abilities that let him perceive the unseen. When Goo Ja-hong intrudes into his world, he begins to feel an inexplicable pull—setting off a whirlwind of humorous and heartfelt changes in his life.
The series is being co-produced by HighZium Studio and Content Planner, with writer Im Mea-ri penning the script. Im is known for her work on The Beauty Inside (JTBC) and Doom at Your Service (tvN), which both received strong fan response for their unique concepts and emotional storytelling.

Human x Gumiho is expected to air on JTBC, with streaming distribution likely split between Coupang Play for domestic audiences and Amazon Prime for international viewers. This multi-platform rollout reflects growing interest in Korean dramas across global markets.
This marks the second time Jun Ji-hyun and Ji Chang-wook will share the screen, following their collaboration in the film Colony, directed by Yeon Sang-ho, which began filming in March 2025.
Jun Ji-hyun, born in 1981, began her career as a magazine model in 1997 before transitioning to acting in 1998. She rose to superstardom with iconic roles in My Love from the Star, The Legend of the Blue Sea, The Thieves, and Assassination, solidifying her status as one of Korea’s most bankable actresses.

Ji Chang-wook, who debuted in 2008, became widely known through a series of hit dramas including My Too Perfect Sons, Smile, Dong Hae, Empress Ki, Healer, Suspicious Partner, and Welcome to Samdal-ri. His strong screen presence and versatility have made him a household name in both action and romantic genres.
Fans are eagerly anticipating the chemistry between the two leads in Human x Gumiho.
