On November 6, tvN’s You Quiz on the Block released a preview for its 218th episode through its official YouTube channel, featuring the much-anticipated return of Park Mi-sun. The veteran entertainer had suspended all broadcasting activities in January due to health issues, later revealed to be breast cancer, sparking widespread concern.
The episode drew particular attention due to Jo Se-ho’s involvement. Just weeks prior, he was one of several celebrities who participated in fashion magazine W Korea’s breast cancer awareness event, which was widely criticized online for being in poor taste dubbed by many as a “breast cancer alcohol party.” Images of Jo Se-ho smiling and enjoying the event were widely shared, leading some to question whether his interaction with Park Mi-sun, a real cancer survivor, could come across as sincere.
In the preview, Park Mi-sun opens up emotionally about her cancer experience, recounting the shock of her diagnosis. When host Yoo Jae-suk commented, “The person most shocked must have been you,” Park responded, “I had a scheduled outdoor shoot and thought I would do radiation treatment afterward. But when they opened me up… this is my first time talking about it.” Her candid reflection and visible tears created a somber atmosphere.

Throughout the preview, Jo Se-ho is seen sitting beside Park Mi-sun with a noticeably stiff expression, his demeanor a stark contrast to the cheerful attitude seen in the event photos that sparked public outrage.
Attempting to lighten the mood, Park Mi-sun joked, “When I shaved my head, I said, ‘Don’t I look like Furiosa?’” She added, “It’s okay to laugh,” injecting some humor into the heavy conversation.
Park Mi-sun was diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer and is making her return to broadcasting after nine months. Her bravery and humor during recovery have resonated with many fans. However, some viewers voiced discomfort about her sharing screen time with Jo Se-ho, who’s been associated with the controversial campaign. “It doesn’t sit right,” said one netizen. Others defended Jo Se-ho, stating, “He wasn’t the organizer — just a guest. The criticism should be directed at the hosts.”
You Quiz on the Block airs every Wednesday at 8:45 PM KST on tvN.
