Police are investigating a Japanese woman in her 50s for allegedly attempting to break into BTS member Jungkook‘s residence multiple times over a three-day period earlier this month.
The Yongsan Police Station confirmed on Wednesday that the unnamed woman is under investigation for attempted trespassing. According to authorities, the suspect repeatedly pressed the digital keypad lock at Jungkook’s Yongsan-gu residence between last Wednesday, Nov. 12, and late Friday, Nov. 14.
The report was filed on Friday last week, the final day of the incident, per Korea Joongang Daily.
Police stated they have not yet confirmed whether the woman has returned to Japan. Investigators plan to question Jungkook to establish the complete facts of the case and determine the appropriate charges.
The Japanese woman’s identity was not publicly released.
The recent incident marked yet another alarming addition to an increasingly worrying trend of security violations at Jungkook’s home since his discharge from mandatory military service in June 2025. Over the past five months, the BTS member has become the repeated target of individuals attempting unauthorized entry to his residence.
The first incident occurred on the very day Jungkook completed his 18-month military enlistment. A woman in her 30s from China was arrested at approximately 11:20 p.m. after attempting to enter the residence by repeatedly trying different passwords at the front door. She was taken into custody on charges of attempted trespassing and was subsequently referred to prosecutors for investigation.
During questioning, the woman stated she had traveled to South Korea specifically to see Jungkook following his military discharge. However, Seoul Western District Prosecutors later granted the woman a suspended prosecution, which meant the charges against her were dropped. It was later reported that she had already flown back to her home country, according to Yonhap News.
Another security breach occurred when a woman in her 40s was arrested for trespassing in the underground parking space of Jungkook’s residence on August 30. According to witnesses and police reports, she followed a vehicle through the entrance, loitered around the building, and attempted to flee when authorities arrived. The woman provided a confusing explanation to officers, claiming she had entered because it was “a friend’s house.”
Jungkook revealed during a Weverse live broadcast celebrating his birthday on Sept. 1 that he personally witnessed the parking lot incident unfold on closed-circuit television.
“I was watching everything from home. When the police arrived, she tried to run out of the basement car park in a panic,” he recounted.
Expressing his frustration, the 28-year-old artist criticized the invasion of privacy while issuing a stark warning to any potential intruders.
