On November 22, Son Ye Jin took to her social media to express her gratitude following her attendance at the 46th Blue Dragon Film Awards and her wins for Best Actress and Popular Star.
“It feels like I’ve been floating on clouds I don’t even know how the past few days went by,” she wrote. She shared that the wins were completely unexpected, leaving her unprepared for a proper acceptance speech. “I heard my fans worked so hard voting for the Popular Star Award. I’m so moved… How could I ever thank you enough?” she added.
Reflecting on her film No Other Choice, Son Ye Jin admitted she had many concerns. “It was my first film in a while and my comeback after marriage, so I had worries. But with director Park Chan Wook and senior Lee Byung Hun, I just felt I had to follow their lead.”
She went on to praise her castmates in touching detail: “Watching the film made me realize how lucky we are to have Director Park in Korean cinema. Lee Byung Hun is as brilliant as ever. Then there’s Lee Sung Min, a master of emotional energy; Yeom Hye Ran, whose charm is beyond words; and Park Hee Soon, a surprising discovery in this film.” She added that all the senior and junior cast members performed beautifully, earning her deep admiration both as people and actors. “And as the youngest on set, I was just so happy.”
Son Ye Jin also thanked the staff, saying, “Thanks to everyone who sweat and worked hard on set, my character could shine. I was lucky to receive such a meaningful and precious award. I won’t take it lightly. I’ll show you even better acting. Thank you!”
