T1 is entering a period of major change as the LCK stove league begins. The team has officially decided not to renew its contract with star ADC ‘Gumayusi’ (Lee Min-hyung), ending a three-year run during which he helped T1 secure consecutive League of Legends World Championship titles.
Following the split, Hanwha Life Esports is reportedly the most likely destination for Gumayusi. Meanwhile, T1 is considering LPL veteran ‘Phase’ Kim Su-hwan as the prime candidate to fill the void left by the departing star.

A T1 representative remained tight-lipped about contract details, stating: “We cannot confirm matters related to player contracts.”
However, multiple esports insiders revealed that T1 has already begun scouting new ADC talent with Gumayusi’s departure in mind.
Gumayusi has been a symbolic figure in the T1 dynasty, forming a legendary bottom lane duo with support Keria (Ryu Min-seok) and cementing T1’s three-peat at Worlds. He was also named Finals MVP at the 2025 World Championship, demonstrating his status as one of the world’s elite ADCs.

Despite his superstar status, Gumayusi signed only a one-year contract last season, making him the biggest variable in this stove league. Considering his MVP performance and rising market value, the decision to part ways appears to be a mutually respectful “beautiful farewell.”
As for T1’s replacement plans, Kim Su-hwan (‘Phase’), previously active in the LPL with JD Gaming, is considered the leading candidate. The 20-year-old debuted with Gen.G in 2023 and has consistently impressed with his laning, late-game carry potential, and teamfight focus.
An esports insider noted: “T1 will not renew Gumayusi’s contract. Phase is currently their top candidate to fill the role.” This move reflects T1’s strategy to pursue both generational renewal and roster stability simultaneously.

In a brief but meaningful statement during the Worlds victory interview, Gumayusi said: “I will approach the stove league with the same mindset as last year.”
While short, the remark hints at the next chapter in his career. Having helped establish T1’s three-peat dynasty, Gumayusi is now ready to embark on a new challenge with a different team, as fans watch closely to see where the star ADC lands next.
