PD Na Young Seok showed emotion at the news of the passing of Lee Soon Jae, who starred in the Grandpas Over Flowers series.
On the morning of the 25th, PD Na Young Seok attended the press conference for the Netflix variety show Three Idiots in Kenya held at CGV Yongsan I’Park Mall in Yongsan-gu, Seoul.
At the event, PD Na said, “I received the news this morning and was very shocked. It was unexpected, so I was really surprised.”
He added, “I traveled with him, visited the theater where he performed, and often spent time with the seniors with whom we shared memories, but I hadn’t seen him over the past year because his health had declined.”
PD Na continued, “Hearing the news suddenly was very shocking. In private gatherings, the words he often told our juniors were, ‘I want to stay on stage until the very end.’ Through that, he served as a great example to our juniors about the value of working consistently and diligently. I pray that he can now rest comfortably in heaven.”
The late Lee Soon Jae passed away in the early hours of the 25th at the age of 91.
The funeral hall has been set up at the Seoul Asan Medical Center Funeral Hall in Songpa-gu, Seoul. Condolences can be paid from 2pm KST onward.
