During his “G-DRAGON 2025 WORLD TOUR [Ubermensch]” concert held on December 12 at Seoul’s Gocheok Sky Dome, G-Dragon addressed the issue directly. He asked the audience, “Were there any parts today that might’ve caused controversy? If so, I’m sorry.” He added with sincerity, “Even if there were, I ask for your understanding.”
Trying to lighten the mood, he continued, “I’m just doing my best. Don’t be disappointed. It’s been 19 years, and if people are still finding controversy now, even I’m shocked.”

When a fan shouted, “You were perfect!”, G-Dragon humbly replied, “It wasn’t perfect. There are many performances I personally feel disappointed about.”
Reflecting on the night’s performance, he shared, “I’m not saying today was flawless either. I just try my best every single day. It depends on the condition I’m in. But today? It was okay. I’ll give it a like.”
G-Dragon has recently faced repeated criticism over his live vocals. At his March concert in Goyang, he was 74 minutes late and delivered a shaky performance that drew backlash. At the time, he explained, “It rained, hailed, and snowed. Everyone was freezing. We tried hard to prepare the stage and equipment, but even machines freeze when it’s that cold.”
The criticism didn’t end there. At the 2025 MAMA Awards held on November 29 at Hong Kong’s Kai Tak Stadium, he once again raised concern. G-Dragon appeared to struggle with his vocals, dropping high notes or stopping mid-performance. Fans voiced concern over his condition.
In a surprising move, G-Dragon left a thumbs-down emoji under a video of his MAMA performance — a gesture many interpreted as self-deprecating humor.
Despite the controversy, G-Dragon continues to face his critics head-on, balancing vulnerability and resilience, and proving that even after nearly two decades, he’s still pushing forward — imperfections and all.
