BLACKPINK’s Jisoo is set to headline Netflix’s upcoming Korean romantic comedy Boyfriend on Demand alongside actor Seo In-guk, drawing attention as one of the platform’s highly anticipated series for 2026.

The drama was officially unveiled on January 21 at the “Next on Netflix 2026 Korea” showcase held in Yeouido, Seoul, where Netflix introduced its content direction and lineup for the year. During the event, Netflix executives highlighted Boyfriend on Demand as a title expected to deliver strong romantic appeal and attract a wider female audience.
Boyfriend on Demand tells the story of Seo Mi-rae, a webtoon producer exhausted by her demanding daily life and long accustomed to living without romance. Jisoo stars as Mi-rae, who unexpectedly gains access to a virtual dating simulation device that allows users to subscribe to love and experience romantic relationships in a virtual world. Through encounters with unrealistically perfect men, Mi-rae begins to rediscover emotions she had long forgotten.

Seo In-guk plays Park Kyung-nam, Mi-rae’s workplace colleague and rival. Though he is someone she would rather avoid, he is widely recognized as a highly capable professional within the company and is revealed to have a surprising hidden side.
The series is directed by Kim Jung-sik, known for romantic comedies such as Work Later, Drink Now and No Gain No Love, raising expectations for a fresh, relatable romance driven by strong chemistry between the leads. Netflix confirmed that Boyfriend on Demand is scheduled to premiere in the first quarter of 2026.
