A female singer has sparked controversy after revealing she was seriously assaulted—only to later issue an apology, leaving fans outraged. The idol in question is Hyunjung of Rolling Quartz, who recently shared alarming photos on her personal social media. The images showed visible injuries on her neck and face. She explained that she had been the victim of a random attack and warned followers to be cautious of individuals with “mental health issues” around them.

Hyunjung wrote, “Please be careful of anyone around you who may have mental health issues. I became a victim of a random attack.” Many fans expressed concern, believing the incident involved an unknown stranger.
However, the situation took a surprising turn when Rolling Star Entertainment released an official statement through the group’s social media. The agency addressed the situation and apologized for causing concern. The statement also noted that Hyunjung was reflecting on having worried the public. Shortly after, the idol herself posted an apology, saying she felt “deeply ashamed of her actions.”

This led to a wave of backlash online, with many questioning why the victim was the one apologizing. Comments included: “I don’t even know her, but this makes me angry. It’s ridiculous that the victim has to apologize,” and “An artist was harmed by a stranger, and this is handled ‘amicably’? The company should clarify, not apologize. She has every right to report this to the police. Why is the victim no longer treated like one?” Many also wished her a speedy recovery.

Later updates from Rolling Star Entertainment suggested a more complex situation, describing the incident as a “mutual dispute.” The company added that legal limitations prevented them from disclosing further details.

Rolling Quartz is a five-member rock band that debuted in December 2020 under Rolling Star Entertainment. In their early days, the group primarily performed at clubs, especially in Seoul’s Hongdae area, before becoming more active online during the COVID-19 pandemic.
All members of Rolling Quartz are involved in the music production process, including songwriting, composing, and arranging. In February 2022, the band released their first EP Fighting, which reached the Top 5 on the U.S. iTunes rock album chart—making them the first Korean indie band to achieve this milestone.
