The 2025 iQIYI “Screaming Night” was held on the evening of December 6 in Macau, drawing a star-studded crowd and fierce competition for the awards. However, controversy erupted during the announcement of the “Most Beloved Female Character of the Year” award. Although it was originally announced that Liu Shishi would win, the award was suddenly given to Bai Lu, sparking accusations of a “black-box operation.” In response, the organizers have officially apologized.

According to netizens, the award was supposed to go to Li Qin from A Smile Follows the Song, Yang Mi from All Living Things, and Liu Shishi from Huai Shui Bamboo Pavilion, based on previously released voting results. But when the winners were announced at the event, the list had been reshuffled: Yang Mi dropped to third place, Liu Shishi was completely removed from the winners, and Bai Lu, who wasn’t even on the original list, was added instead.

Since the voting required users to spend money, many fans who paid to vote were furious.
Later, iQIYI issued an official apology, acknowledging that the winner announcement at the event was incorrect. They emphasized that the correct winners should be based on the announcement from November 21.
Despite the apology, netizens were not satisfied. Many blasted the mistake online, calling it “ridiculous” and “unbelievable,” demanding that both Bai Lu and Liu Shishi receive an apology for the confusion.
