On December 29, JTBC’s Crime Chief revealed the story of A, a woman in her 40s and a mother of two, who claimed her marriage collapsed due to her husband’s relationship with a famous trot singer.
According to A, her husband began going out frequently and abruptly canceled a planned family vacation earlier this year. In February, he eventually left the family home. While checking his phone, A discovered the trot singer’s name along with her birthday saved in his contacts. When confronted, her husband insisted they were “just friends.”
However, suspicions grew when the husband was seen accompanying the singer to her event schedules. Unable to accept the explanation, A contacted the singer directly in March.
“She insisted they were only friends and warned me that she would sue me through her agency if I continued contacting her,” A recalled.

The situation escalated when A, through legal counsel, discovered that her husband had been living with the singer. CCTV footage from an apartment complex allegedly showed the two hugging and kissing, further strengthening A’s case.
Despite repeatedly sending messages asking the singer to stop seeing her husband, A received no response. It was only after A sent a formal legal notice in September that the singer contacted her.
“She told me she was a victim too,” A said. “She claimed they had already broken up and said she was struggling financially, supporting her parents, and had no money.”
According to A, the singer explained that the man told her his divorce was nearly finalized and that they planned to marry, even introducing her to his parents.

“She said she had endured a long period of obscurity to get where she is now and that she has a lot to lose as a celebrity,” A added.
The singer reportedly pleaded for leniency, saying that being forced to leave her current TV program could result in massive penalty fees. She allegedly asked whether it would be acceptable to shift legal responsibility onto the husband, stating she could not afford the penalties alone.
In subsequent messages, the singer reportedly appealed again, saying her mother was battling cancer and that she needed money for surgery and treatment.
A responded angrily, stating, “She destroyed a family and then asked to be forgiven because of money. I couldn’t accept it, and I no longer want to see her on television.”

In response, the singer denied knowingly engaging in an affair, claiming she believed the man’s marriage had already irreparably broken down.
“He assured me that the divorce was agreed upon, including property division and alimony,” the singer reportedly stated. “When I realized that wasn’t true, I immediately ended the relationship and sincerely apologized to his wife.”
The woman involved in the scandal reportedly gained public recognition after placing within the top 10 on a cable channel’s trot audition program in 2019, marking the end of her long period of obscurity. She has since remained active in the entertainment industry.
As the legal dispute continues, public attention remains sharply focused on whether the singer’s claims of deception will hold up against the evidence presented.
