The Asian beauty community has been left stunned by the passing of Daddoa, one of the early icons of South Korea’s beauty blogger scene, who died on December 16.
The news was announced on December 25 by Leferi Beauty Entertainment, Daddoa’s agency. Daddoa, whose real name was Lee Da-sol, was born in 1996 and was 29 years old at the time of her death.

According to the statement, Daddoa passed away on December 16. Both the agency and her family decided not to disclose the specific cause of death. Choi In-seok, a representative of Leferi Beauty Entertainment, asked the public and the media to respect the family’s privacy during this difficult period and refrain from unfounded speculation so that the late YouTuber may rest in peace.
“Daddoa was not only a first-generation YouTuber, but also one of the earliest figures to prove the global potential of the Korean beauty industry,” Choi said.

Following the announcement, long-time followers expressed their grief and condolences in the comments section of her YouTube videos. Messages such as, “Even if you no longer upload videos, I hope you are living well somewhere,” “May you rest peacefully in heaven and no longer suffer,” and “Thank you for taking care of my beauty during my teenage years,” reflected the deep impact she had on her audience.
Daddoa began her content creation career in 2015 and quickly rose to become one of South Korea’s leading beauty YouTubers, amassing over 1.2 million subscribers. She was widely loved for her delicate visuals, advanced makeup skills, and warm, approachable way of communicating with viewers.
In the past, Daddoa openly shared that she had been a victim of school bullying. In one of her videos, she explained that those emotional scars led her to discover makeup as a form of armor, helping her build confidence and face the world more bravely.
