Shim Ha-eun, wife of former national football player Lee Chun-soo, has made the heartfelt decision to homeschool their twin son and daughter, sharing the news on November 3 via her personal social media account. She posted a photo of the twins with the caption, “Starting home care from today—let’s do well until the warm spring.” The decision appears to stem from the couple’s desire to provide a stable and nurturing environment for their children’s development and education.

Recently, the couple shared on their YouTube channel that they had moved homes to better accommodate their children’s schooling needs. “We relocated to be closer to our eldest daughter Joo-eun’s school and the twins’ kindergarten is also nearby,” they explained. When asked if the move was far, Shim replied, “Just one subway stop away. We’ve moved about seven times so far.”

Reflecting on their moving history, Shim Ha-eun recounted a touching story: “When Joo-eun was seven, she told her grandfather, ‘Mom said we’re going to live here until the twins turn seven.’ When he asked why, she replied, ‘Because mom is sick of moving.’” Shim added, “But here we are, moving again a year earlier than planned. We’ve lived well and we’re grateful. Married 13 years, and this is our eighth move.”

Shim and Lee Chun-soo married in 2012 and have three children: one son and two daughters. Their eldest, Joo-eun, has recently made headlines for her academic achievements. In May, she was accepted into the prestigious Center for Talented Youth (CTY) program at Johns Hopkins University, which is open only to the top 10% of students in the U.S. gifted education system.
In July, she scored a perfect mark on the U.S. AP Psychology exam. Most recently, Joo-eun was recognized as the top student at ICS International School, where she continues to excel academically.
As the couple continues to prioritize their children’s well-being and education, this latest decision reflects a deep commitment to family values and long-term stability.
