On March 19, broadcaster and voice actress Seo Yuri shared part of her divorce agreement on social media, writing, “When will I receive it?”, hinting at unresolved financial issues.
According to the document, former husband Choi Byung Gil is required to pay approximately 323 million KRW (around $216,000) in property division, with a deadline set for December 31, 2024. If unpaid, a 12% annual interest will be applied starting in January 2025. The post quickly gained attention but also triggered speculative and controversial comments from netizens.

One particularly provocative comment suggested that divorce could be financially beneficial, stating that marrying a wealthy partner and divorcing after a few years could be a form of “easy money” or “creative economy.” Seo Yuri did not stay silent. She captured the comment and responded firmly, “I actually had more money. What are you talking about? Since 2019, there was only debt. He never earned more than me even once.”
Her direct rebuttal quickly drew support from fans who praised her for speaking out against misinformation. This is not the first time Seo Yuri has publicly addressed issues related to the divorce. She previously revealed that her name was listed among creditors in her ex-husband’s bankruptcy filings, expressing frustration over ongoing financial burdens. “I’m still paying off loans under my name,” she stated in an earlier post, highlighting the complexity of their separation.
Seo Yuri and Choi Byung Gil registered their marriage in 2019 and finalized their divorce in 2024 after five years together. Since then, the situation has evolved into a highly public dispute, with Seo Yuri even hinting at potential legal action by sharing private message exchanges.
