On August 27, it was announced that EVERGLOW (E:U, Sihyeon, Onda, Aisha) would be performing in Russia news that immediately alarmed many fans. The performance was scheduled for the VK Festival, a major event hosted on the Kremlin-controlled social platform VK, adding another layer of concern.
From the moment the announcement surfaced, FOREVERs, especially Ukrainian fans, pleaded with the group’s new agency, CHXXTA Company, to withdraw from the event due to Russia’s ongoing war in Ukraine. Many fans emphasized that the decision could deeply hurt those within the fandom who are directly affected by the conflict.
When CHXXTA Company was revealed as EVERGLOW’s new label, fans launched a mass email campaign, urging the agency to cancel the appearance. “Please reconsider the performance in Russia for the safety of fans and the group,” fans wrote in coordinated messages a request repeated for months.
Fan concerns were left unanswered, and despite ongoing comment floods on social media, CHXXTA did not publicly address any of the issues. The company also quietly created a Russian VK account without informing fans on other platforms, further fueling frustration.
Despite months of protest, EVERGLOW ultimately performed in Russia on November 23. Shortly afterward, reports circulated that the group is preparing to tour six Russian regions in 2026, intensifying the backlash.
The Ukrainian EVERGLOW fanbase active since 2021 announced its official closure following the performance. The group shared emotional statements expressing disappointment and pain over being ignored by both the company and, indirectly, the members they supported for years.
This situation has sparked widespread heartbreak within the international FOREVER community. Fans describe feeling unheard, dismissed, and emotionally exhausted after attempting for months to communicate the real-world implications of the decision. Many fans continue asking CHXXTA Company for an official statement, but as of now, the silence remains.

The Russia–Ukraine conflict began in February 2022, when Russia launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine, escalating tensions that had existed since Russia’s annexation of Crimea in 2014. The war has resulted in thousands of civilian casualties, mass displacement, and ongoing international sanctions against Russia. Because of the scale of suffering and global political sensitivity surrounding the conflict, many Ukrainian fans felt that any performances or promotions in Russia especially by international artists carry significant emotional weight and are seen as politically charged, even if unintentionally.
