Cha Hyun Seung, the well-known dancer and actor who rose to fame through his appearances with Sunmi and on Netflix’s “Single’s Inferno,” has shared a heartfelt update on his current condition following his leukemia diagnosis. On October 27, he interacted with fans through an Instagram Story Q&A, giving a glimpse into his thoughts and daily life.

When asked about the food he currently craves the most, Cha responded with a photo of jjambbong, a popular spicy Korean noodle soup. For songs that lift his spirits, he recommended “A Flying Butterfly,” “REFUGE,” and “The road of the storm.”

One message from a fan stood out, asking, “Are you doing okay these days? Stay healthy and don’t hang out with people who have mental illnesses.” Cha’s response was both compassionate and mature: “They’re people who are hurting, not bad people,” he wrote—highlighting his empathy even amid his personal struggles.

To another question about the phrase he says or thinks about the most each day, he answered simply: “Eutcha” (a Korean expression similar to a sigh or grunt used when exerting effort).
Just a month earlier, on September 27, Cha had publicly shared that he was diagnosed with leukemia in early June. He recounted being rushed to the emergency room, which abruptly halted his career momentum. “I had just passed the final auditions for several projects I was passionate about, but everything stopped when I was diagnosed,” he said at the time.

His announcement prompted an outpouring of support from fellow entertainers and fans alike. Sunmi, under whose team he performed as a backup dancer, left a supportive comment saying, “If it’s not extreme, it wouldn’t be you—so let’s beat this in the most extreme way possible.”
Cha Hyun Seung gained international popularity through his charismatic presence on “Single’s Inferno” (2021) and has recently appeared in the Dramax and Wavve original drama “No Mercy“. Despite facing such a heavy personal battle, his recent interaction with fans shows his resilience and compassion remain stronger than ever.
