Taiwanese singer and DJ Koo Jun-yup is set to celebrate the upcoming Lunar New Year with the family of his late wife, actress Barbie Hsu, according to her mother, Huang Chunmei.
In a recent interview with Next Apple, Huang Chunmei shared her feelings about facing the first New Year without Barbie Hsu. “I cry every time I think about it and can’t imagine how I will get through that day,” she said. Despite the sadness, she expressed gratitude for the support she has received and said she is gradually recovering.

She revealed that this year, DJ Koo will join the family at the villa of Barbie Hsu’s younger sister, Barbie Hsu’s sister Dee Hsu, marking a meaningful family reunion. “It’s comforting that the family can be together for the New Year,” Huang Chunmei said through tears.
Since Barbie Hsu’s passing, Huang Chunmei admitted she was so weak she could barely move. Her daughter brought her to see a traditional Chinese medicine doctor, and she has now regained much of her strength. Although she still struggles to sleep through the night, her pain has significantly lessened.
DJ Koo has not commented publicly on these updates. Sources report that he continues his daily visits to his late wife’s gravesite. South Korean media also note that a Korean broadcaster is planning a special program focusing on DJ Koo and Barbie Hsu’s enduring love beyond life and death.

DJ Koo is a music producer, singer, and former member of the dance group Clon. He is also a DJ with his own fashion brand. The couple married in 2022.
Barbie Hsu, born in 1976, is a celebrated Taiwanese actress and singer, known for dramas such as Meteor Garden, The War God, and Summer Bubble. After her 2021 divorce from businessman Wang Xiaofei, she largely stayed out of the public eye to focus on her family. Vivian passed away on February 2, 2025, in Japan due to flu-related pneumonia while on holiday.
