A production press conference for SBS’s upcoming Wednesday–Thursday drama, Dynamite Kiss took place on November 5 at the SBS Hall in Mokdong, Seoul. The event featured lead actors Jang Ki-yong, Ahn Eun-jin, Kim Mu-jun, and Woo Da-vi, alongside director Kim Jae-hyun, who opened up about his aspirations for the new series.
The romantic comedy follows Go Da-rim (Ahn Eun-jin), a single woman who disguises herself as a married mother to land a job, and Gong Ji-hyeok (Jang Ki-yong), her team leader who gradually falls for her. The drama depicts the humorous and heartfelt struggles of two people concealing their emotions while navigating workplace chaos and unexpected affection.

Director Kim Jae-hyun’s previous work, One Dollar Lawyer, achieved phenomenal success, reaching a peak viewership rating of 15.2%. However, the show ended prematurely at 12 episodes instead of 14, sparking rumors of internal disagreements and creative conflicts. SBS denied the speculation at the time, explaining that the decision was made “to accelerate the story’s progression.” Despite the explanation, audiences criticized the abrupt and uneven finale, labeling it a “flashy yet disappointing ending.”
Addressing whether the hit drama’s legacy created pressure, Kim responded candidly:

“I feel more anticipation than burden. Since ‘One Dollar Lawyer’ was loved so much, I’m confident that ‘Dynamite Kiss’ will also receive great affection.”
He further expressed his ambition for the project:
“My goal is to surpass ‘One Dollar Lawyer.’ I want this series to deliver even more laughter and emotion.”
With its lively premise and promising cast chemistry, Dynamite Kiss aims to bring a fresh wave of romantic comedy to SBS’s midweek lineup. The drama is set to premiere on November 12 at 9 p.m. KST on SBS.
