Chinese actor Ding Yuxi is drawing widespread attention for his remarkable performance in the crime drama Genius Game, where he takes on the challenge of portraying three distinct characters within a single storyline.
The series has quickly become a hot topic following its release, thanks to its gripping narrative centered on class conflict and identity manipulation. At the heart of the story is the character Chen Lun—a wealthy and arrogant heir who seeks to control his surroundings. Using his privilege, Chen Lun hires a young genius, Liu Quanlong, to impersonate him at school, setting off a chain of complex and dangerous events.

Ding Yuxi’s portrayal of Chen Lun stands out for its sharp dialogue delivery and commanding presence, effectively capturing the confidence of someone born into privilege. However, the real highlight comes as the story progresses.
In a dramatic twist, Chen Lun alters his identity, adopting the appearance and mannerisms of an ordinary young man. Ding Yuxi seamlessly shifts his acting style—changing his tone, accent, and body language—to reflect a completely different social background. This transformation adds layers of tension to the plot while showcasing the actor’s versatility.
As the narrative unfolds further, viewers are introduced to Li Xiaojiang, another identity marked by hardship and desperation. Living under someone else’s name, the character is forced into difficult choices, gradually descending into a more dangerous path. Ding Yuxi’s emotionally charged performance in these scenes has been widely praised for its depth and restraint.

One of the drama’s most compelling aspects lies in its intense confrontations. In these high-stakes moments, Ding Yuxi delivers subtle yet powerful expressions, using nuanced eye movements and controlled emotions rather than exaggerated acting. This approach has resonated strongly with audiences, who commend his ability to differentiate each character with precision.
Born in 1995 in Shanghai, Ding Yuxi graduated from the Shanghai Theatre Academy with a major in directing. He gained recognition through projects such as New Smiling Proud Wanderer, The Romance of Tiger and Rose, Love the Way You Are, and Love You Seven Times.
With his striking visuals and adaptable acting range, Ding Yuxi continues to establish himself as one of the most promising actors of his generation. He is also set to appear in the upcoming historical drama Si Gong Ling, co-starring Song Zu Er, further heightening anticipation among fans.
