According to Taiwanese media reports on November 4, Lily – Barbie Hsu‘s niece and the daughter of Barbie’s younger sister, Dee Hsu spoke about Koo Jun-yup at a recent event. “He still joins us for family dinners every week,” Lily shared, highlighting his ongoing connection with the family. “But he’s so thin that our family keeps piling his plate with meat and vegetables,” she added.
When reporters brought up his gaunt appearance, Lily expressed her heartfelt wish: “I hope he gets healthier.”

Last month, Koo was seen attending a family celebration to honor his sister-in-law Dee Hsu’s award at the 60th Golden Bell Awards. Photos showed him warmly interacting with his mother-in-law, Huang Chunmei, displaying a close familial bond.
Taiwanese outlet CTWANT previously reported that Koo Jun-yup has lost over 10 kilograms following the sudden passing of his wife Barbie Hsu in February. Local internet users have shared sympathetic reactions to his physical decline, noting the emotional toll.
Earlier, Dee Hsu revealed that DJ Koo visits Jinbaoshan cemetery daily to eat by Barbie’s grave and spends his time drawing portraits of her, filling his home with her image—a touching and melancholic tribute to his late wife.
Koo Jun-yup and Barbie Hsu reunited after more than 20 years in 2021 and married the following year, capturing the hearts of fans with their fairytale-like romance. Tragically, Barbie Hsu passed away earlier this year during a family trip to Japan, due to flu-related complications and pneumonia.
The continued support and concern from her family suggest that Koo remains an integral part of their lives as he mourns and heals.
