According to a February 11 report by SPOTV News, Chun Woo-hee has been cast as a new lead in the upcoming installment of director Ryoo Seung-wan’s blockbuster franchise. Her agency, Blitzway Entertainment, confirmed that she has received the offer and is positively reviewing it.
The “Veteran” series follows relentless detective Seo Do-cheol, played by Hwang Jung-min, as he pursues and takes down powerful criminals. The first film, released in 2015, drew 13.41 million moviegoers, becoming a massive box office hit. Its sequel, released last year, attracted 7.52 million viewers despite challenging theatrical conditions, further cementing the franchise’s popularity.

Season 3 will feature Lee Jun-ho as the central villain. Following news of his casting, Lee confirmed the project as his next work and revealed he will be taking on an antagonist role, heightening anticipation.
With Chun Woo-hee joining the cast, attention is focused on whether she will become a new member of the detective team or align alongside Lee Jun-ho’s villain character. Either direction adds intrigue to the upcoming installment.
Chun Woo-hee recently led the JTBC drama “My Youth” opposite Song Joong-ki. In film, “Veteran 3” would mark her first movie project in three years since “Unlocked.” Known for her versatility, Chun has delivered acclaimed performances in works such as “The Wailing” and “The 8 Show,” seamlessly transitioning between protagonist and antagonist roles. “Veteran 3” is expected to begin full-scale production once director Ryoo Seung-wan completes promotional activities for his upcoming project “Humint.”
