Chinese influencer and former model Jocie Guo (born 1991), known for a long string of scandals and two criminal convictions, has officially been placed under a permanent online ban by the Cyberspace Administration of China (CAC). Authorities also ordered that all of her online presence be removed across social platforms.
According to QQ on December 8, the CAC stated that Jocie Guo repeatedly violated the Online Information Content Ecosystem Governance Regulations by flaunting extreme wealth, promoting a hedonistic lifestyle, and spreading distorted values with a negative social impact. She has been included in the first round of China’s “Clean Up the Internet” campaign, which targets tax-evading streamers, violent or harmful content, and influencers involved in severe misconduct.

Before the official notice, Weibo had already permanently suspended her account, while Douyin banned her from livestreaming and removed her profile entirely. With both major platforms blocking her activities, Jocie Guo has been fully erased from China’s online environment.
On Chinese forums, most netizens applauded the punishment, saying she contributed no positive value and repeatedly stirred controversy.
A Troubled Career: From Internet Fame to Two Prison Sentences
Jocie Guo first gained attention as part of China’s early generation of online “hot girls,” later moving into modeling and low-tier showbiz activities. Her attempts to stay relevant relied heavily on provocative tactics revealing photoshoots, flaunting wealth, and showcasing a party-centric lifestyle.

Her actions eventually led to multiple criminal charges:
- First imprisonment (2015): She was sentenced to five years in prison for prostitution and operating an illegal gambling ring.
- Second imprisonment (2021): Less than a year after her release, she was again arrested for participating in the production and sale of banned weight-loss pills and diet candies, which contained Sibutramine, a chemical prohibited due to its severe health risks.
She received 2 years and 6 months in prison, completing the sentence in September 2023.
Attempted Image Revival And Another Collapse
Following her second release, Jocie Guo created a new Weibo account titled “Jocie Guo Working Hard,” promising to straighten her life, work legally, and “start over.” She began DJ-ing in nightclubs and selling products online.

However, she quickly returned to her old patterns:
- Flaunting excessive wealth
- Wearing highly revealing outfits during livestreams
- Making discriminatory remarks (e.g., “If you’re poor, don’t follow me”)
- Selling bizarre “ritual dolls” tied to superstition
- Posting content many viewers described as offensive and vulgar
These actions triggered strong backlash and ultimately led to the absolute platform-wide ban.
A Strong Message from Chinese Authorities
The permanent deletion of Jocie Guo’s online presence signals China’s intention to continue cracking down on influencers seen as toxic, illegal, or socially harmful.
For Jocie Guo whose name has become synonymous with controversy, criminal activity, and online excess this ruling marks the decisive end of her public life on Chinese social media.
