Musical actor Han Ji Sang, whose lecturer appointment was canceled due to a past sexual harassment controversy, has since spoken out in an attempt to clear his name. On March 13, 2026 (KST), the actor uploaded a lengthy 22-minute video to his YouTube channel, once again sharing his stance on the past allegations.
Troubled Actor Loses Job Again After Students Protest Over His Sexual Scandal
Previously, in 2020, Han Ji Sang became embroiled in controversy over a sexual misconduct dispute involving a female fan identified as Fan A. At the time, his agency stated that he and Fan A had met around May 2018 with mutual interest but later drifted apart. According to the agency, Fan A later claimed sexual harassment and demanded either a public relationship or a large financial payment.
Han Ji Sang firmly denied ever sexually harassing Fan A and filed a criminal complaint against her for attempted extortion and coercion. Prosecutors ultimately cleared Fan A of those charges. Although investigators confirmed during the process that there was no evidence of forced sexual harassment, the fallout from the controversy led Han Ji Sang to withdraw from projects he had been scheduled to appear in.

Through the video, Han Ji Sang explained in detail how he came to meet Fan A, when she first mentioned sexual harassment, and the allegations that she demanded money. He also released recordings of phone conversations with her.
According to Han Ji Sang, he was introduced to Fan A through a senior colleague in the theater industry after she expressed interest in meeting him.
He said, “While I was working on a production in 2017, a sunbae actor I was performing with showed me a screenshot of an Instagram DM from a woman asking to be introduced to me.”
After the show ended and I had some free time, I contacted her since she had left her job information and phone number in the DM. That’s how we ended up meeting in person.

He added that their first meeting was arranged not as a fan-and-actor interaction but as a date between a man and a woman.
The conversation flowed well, and we gradually developed mutual interest. We drank together, the mood relaxed, and we felt attracted to each other. There was physical contact. It wasn’t one-sided or forced, it happened naturally as part of expressing mutual feelings.

However, Han Ji Sang said he later decided they could not continue seeing each other due to differences in values and told her he wanted to end the relationship. After that, he claims Fan A’s attitude changed.

He explained, “On September 10, 2019, while I was performing in a show, I received a message from her. There was an overwhelming amount of text with serious content. The way she addressed me had changed, and what I strongly felt was intimidation. It was being framed as though it had been unilateral sexual harassment.”
Han Ji Sang also shared a recording of a phone conversation with Fan A. In the recording, Fan A allegedly said, “What happened back then wasn’t sexual harassment. It wasn’t something you forced on me. In that moment, at that time, I liked you too.”
However, according to Han Ji Sang, Fan A later said she had been hurt because contact between them had faded. He said, “Since we couldn’t reach an agreement, I asked her to tell me what kind of compensation she wanted. I believed I had already apologized fully—for the relationship not developing and for hurting her feelings by ending things poorly. But it still didn’t end.”
Han Ji Sang further claimed that Fan A demanded either ₩500 million KRW (about $333,000 USD) to ₩1.00 billion KRW (about $665,000 USD) or a public relationship lasting one year.

If someone is intimidating me by calling it sexual harassment when it wasn’t, how could I possibly have a relationship with that person? It made no sense to me. When I asked her lawyer if I had really done something wrong worth ₩500 million KRW (about $333,000 USD), she lowered it to ₩300 million KRW (about $200,000 USD)…

Han Ji Sang said he reported the situation to his agency and pursued legal action against Fan A. However, he explained that authorities determined Fan A’s actions did not reach the level of criminal harm. Since she had initially sought a public relationship rather than money, prosecutors concluded there were no grounds for charges.
He also emphasized that he has never committed a sex crime and has never been punished for one, adding that he plans to continue taking strong legal action against malicious comments online.
