On April 6, a production press conference for MBC’s upcoming Friday-Saturday drama Perfect Crown was held at Josun Palace Gangnam in Seoul’s Yeoksam-dong.
The event was attended by cast members including IU, Byeon Woo Seok, Noh Sang Hyun, Gong Seung Yeon, Yoo Su Bin, Lee Yeon, along with director Park Joon Hwa.

Perfect Crown is set in a fictional constitutional monarchy in modern-day Korea. It tells the story of a wealthy chaebol woman who has everything but is frustrated by her commoner status, and a royal prince who has nothing despite being the king’s son. The drama explores romance, class struggles, and fate.
Playing the role of Prince Ian, Byeon Woo Seok described his character as “a beloved royal figure who must neither raise his voice nor stand out, as he is the second son of the royal family.”

He added, “When I read the script, I always consider whether I can vividly imagine the character and scenes. In this case, the imagery came very naturally, and I strongly related to Prince Ian’s narrative.”
The project has drawn particular attention as it marks Byeon Woo Seok’s first drama in two years following the massive popularity of Lovely Runner in 2024.

When asked about the pressure of returning after such success, he responded, “I’m grateful for all the love and attention. Rather than feeling pressured, I hope people will continue to support me even more.”
He continued, “As much as I receive love and interest, I want to keep improving and do my best. I genuinely enjoy the attention.”
Regarding viewership ratings, he said, “If I give my best, I believe I should humbly accept the results. Of course, I would be very thankful if the ratings turn out well, so I ask for your interest and support.”
MBC’s Perfect Crown is set to premiere on April 10 at 9:40 PM.
